Project Description
The Programme emphasizes the holistic and creative of Theatre,each course will have special elements to found more possibilities. After the workshops, students can proposed their performance plan, and will have opportunity to independently or collaboration with other participants, to produce a final performance. Also will have Drama Theory, Script Analysis and Lines Processing, it’s indepentdent of the other courses, all participants must attend these sessions.
Workshop include:
Directing and Scenography, Playwright, Acting, Stage Management
In a performances, we need language interpretation, also need body language and interflow. The Acting Workshop give students understanding of their own, and to explore their possible through different exercises, emphasis on individual expression induced form and style, extended the creative possibilities by the body, gesture, rhythm and sensibility. Participants will have a little final performance in the last session, and the tutor will give a review.
** The course will give participants an opportunity of public performance, you can participation voluntary.
The course suitable for people who has an initial knowledge of stage. All with 10 sessions, and 2 hours per session, participants can attend the Drama Theory, Script Analysis and Lines Processing sessions on free.

Teach and guide for stage playwright skills, let participants to create their own pieces, sharing, discuss, and revise. Tutor will give review to the pieces, to help them to complete the personal creation.
The workshop emphasis on the repeated creative process, discuss, review and revise, to let participants to growth and explore their personal creative.
The course suitable for people who are interested in playwright. All with 8 sessions, and 2 hours per session, participants can attend the Drama Theory, Script Analysis and Lines Processing sessions on free.

Breaking the traditional confines of workshop, re-start from the perspective of the entire stage spaces, from deconstruction text to creat performance. How to use the theatre space, with text or the body of actor and language plux other visual elements to form the articles and performance. At the same time, also teach about Stage Design, improve the use of space for participants, enlarge the perspective and deal with theatrical vision.

Ms Aubrey Kwok Tsz-wan – Acting Workshop
Kwok Tsz-wan graduated from the Academy’s School of Drama in 2000 and obtained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts (Hons) with first class honours. After graduation, she participated in different theatre companies, including Spring-time Stage, Wu Hoi Fai Production, Theatre Ensemble and Emperor’s Stage. In 2001, Tsz-wan joined Hong Kong Repertory Theatre as full-time performer. In 2005, she was a performer and choreographer for Peter Pan – An Introduction. In 2004, Tsz-wan was nominated the Best Actress (Comedy/Farce) by the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies. Tsz-wan also acted as assistant director for different performances. In 2005, she got a great result in directing Corinthians 13 of Rep 2 Series. Tsz-wan is the part-time tutor of EXCEL (Extension and Continuing Education for Life) of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2008, Tsz-wan was the artist-in-residence in creativity and drama teacher of a mutli-media organization group, “DD Duck” Theatre Company. Her recent production: HAPPY CLASS C’s To Night Club.
Mr Cheung Fai-fan – Playwright Workshop
FeiFan Cheung graduated from the department of Cinema & Television of the School of Communication of the Hong Kong Baptist University, currently the president and creative director of Chasing Theatre, which he found in 2000.
He Has been penning scripts for different theatre companies; works included The “Passage Beyond” for Actor’s Family, “4.9 Quiet Car” for Harmonic Theatre, The Journey for Prospects Theatre’s Playwright Scheme I, II, III, IV, V, “Freedom…Light years Away” for Radio Television Hong Kong’s (RTHK) TV series “A Wall-less World” and “Love Sick” for “The Moment” series, as well as “Unforgettable” for his own Chasing Theatre. In addition, he was the executive producer of “Soul 21 Grams”, and “Chaozhou Groom”.
He worn the 33rd Youth Literary Awards (Drama) with “Delicate Fragrance”, nominated for the Best Script award at the 1st Hong Kong Theatre Libre in 2008 with “Unforgettable” and was presented the awards for Most Popular Performance and Best Production of the Year for the musical “The Passage Beyond” in the Hong Kong Drama Awards 2010. In addition, he nominated for the Best Script award at the Hong Kong Drama Awards 2011 with “The Best Wretches”, and worn the Award for Young Artist in Hong Kong Art Development Awards 2010.
Mr Bee Wan Tik-lun – Stage Mangement Workshop
Bee Wan started his career in theatre as a deputy stage manager in the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre. After he graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts majoring in Theatre Lighting, he furthered his studies in Utrecht , Seville & London in 1999 and was awarded a distinction in his Masters degree in Scenography.
Since his return from Europe , Bee has joined Theatre Space. His work Medea (2000), Tai-ji (2006) and Sunday In The Park With George (2008) fetched nominations in the Hong Kong Theatre Awards and he also received the Best Lighting Design award in 2003 for his work in Eleven Cats. On another hand his range of work has diversified from lighting into set and costume design. Major productions include: ART (1998), West Side Story (2000), A Few Good Men, Glass Menageries (2001), The Sound of Music, They are playing our song, Twelve Angry Men (2003), Sai Fung, A Woman Alone, On Golden Pond (2003), DA (2004), Lapin Agile and Painting Churches (2005), Oscar et la dame Rose (2006), Peter Pan Asian tour (2007) , The Visitor , Vincent In Brixton , and Judgment at Nuremberg (2008), The Unexpected Guest, Alice in Bed(2009) , Nunsense, The Only King (2010), On The Slope, Jeweler’s Shop & A Life (2011) , The Message (2012) .
Direct ing projects included: Yieh Yieh Yieh Mah (2004), ANNIE (2005, 2007), OLIVER! (2006, 2008), Talley’s Folly (2006), My Mother Said I Never Should (2007), Twelve Housewives From Tin Shui Wai (2008) , Dracula The Musical (2010), G odspell, Best Wretches (2011) .
Other than directing and design works, creating performances through scenographical devices is also Bee’s forte. In his first attempt in Not I – a journey of Light, he created a stage performance based on Samuel Beckett’s text with lights and movements of objects in a bare stage. The show was later performed in Macau (2001) and an intergraded version was staged in Hong Kong (2006). Bee has also collaborated with artists from England , Germany , Netherlands , Brazil and Chile to stage Maggots (2001) – a multi-media project based on Shakespearean texts Julia Caesar & Macbeth, with drama, video, Israel i puppets, Japanese Taiko & flute. And he organized site specific projects in Hong Kong (2004 & 2006) with Silo Theater from the Netherlands, as well as Scenography workshops (2001, 2004, 2006, 2008) that encourages youngsters to express themselves and share their ideas through researching and experimenting on the possibilities of mingling with various medias such as texts, drama, installations, lights, music, movements, objects and more together, to create a contemporary and living experience of theatre.
He is now the coordinator of Hong Kong Drama Festival and part time tutor of the School of Continuing Studies of Hong Kong Chinese University & HKU SPACE.
Mr Jacob Yu Chun-kau – Directing & Scenography Workshop
As a musical lover, he was invited to be the director of an original musical “I, Ching” by ICG Production Inc. USA. The musical is about the life of Jian Ching, Lady Mao and had it’s world premier in Los Angeles , in 2012.
Jacob Yu is an active contributor to performing arts and entertainment. He works as producer, production manager, director, s cenographer & playwright for numerous Hong Kong performing groups, including Hong Kong Disneyland and now working in Macau Cultural Center as the consultant of Program and Marketing.
1981, he joined the Urban Council Performing Companies as Assistant Stage Manager and became Technical Manager of HK Dance Company in 1988. He also worked as lighting and set designers for the HK Repertory Theatre and Dance Company. In 1987, he awarded the Scholarship from the Robert Black Trust Fund to further his study in the University of Rochester, New York. 1990, Mr. Yu was invited to be the Production Manager of Chung Ying Theatre Company. From 1992 to 1993, he took a new direction as further study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, specializing in Lighting Design and graduated with Professional Diploma. In 1997, Mr. Yu joined European Scenography Course (ESC), after studying in Utrecht , Prague and London , he was awarded with Master of Arts (Scenography) with Distinctions by The London Institute in 1998.
The awarded that Jacob Yu achieved in the past including Youth Drama Project Script Writing Competition presented by Joint School Drama Project and Hong Kong Arts Center in 1984. In 1993, “ Nuwa Mends the Sky” won “The Best Lighting Design Award” in < The 2 nd Hong Kong Drama Awards>. 1994, “Ten Years Bests Achievements (Backstage)” was awarded in < The 4th HK Drama Awards> as well as ‘The Best Set Design Award” in the 10 th , 11 th , 13 th and 14th
In past years, he was nominated as the “Best Director ” with the production “ Laughter on the 23/F” , the “Best Director “& “Best Set-design” with “ Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” and the “Best Set-design” with “ART” , “A Few Good Men” ,”Tai Chi” , “The Last Bet of my Dead Aunt” and “Sunday in the Park with George”. “ ART” and “A Few Good Men” both won the “Bronze Prize” in Hong Kong Designer Association
Mr. Yu keen on bringing high quality entertainment to the public can be reflected on his passion in Musical. He was the director of “West Side Story” , performed by the waterfront of Tsim Sha Tsui, presented by LCSD for “A Tribute to the Millennium”in 2000 ; “The Sound of Music” presented by “International Arts Carnival” in 2002 ; “Sai Fung” , an original musical about Young Bruce Lee written by Au Kam Tong in 2003, also involved as a main creative team/set designer in musical “They’re playing our song” (2002) written by Neil Simon, “Oliver Twist” , and “Annie” (2005) , Mr. Yu also a pioneer of producing theatrical performance in local pub .

Mr. YU was also the founder of Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technicians and Scenographers, c ommittee member of the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies, HK Arts Development Council: Committee member of Drama & Traditional Performance Committee (’95) & Examiner/Assessor of Drama Committee. In 1999, Mr. YU together with his friends formed the THEATRE SPACE, a professional theatre company in Hong Kong .
