夢綣塘西

In the worst of times, remember your most radiant eyes.

In the 1920s’s Shek Tong Tsui, women were forced to sell their bodies for a living. They were trapped, unable to attain love and freedom.

Ah Bo (played by Leung King-yiu), a vendor of “doufen water”(豆粉水) in Tin Yat Chai, and Pearl Girl (played by Mak Tsz-kwan), a street entertainer, fall deeply in love. Despite their struggles, Pearl Girl cannot escape the fate of being exploited by clients. Ah Bo, in order to save his beloved, sacrifices a promising future. In 1925, a major labor strike sweeps through Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, causing the collapse of all the prosperity like bursting bubbles. In this tumultuous era, love and dreams are ephemeral and elusive, yet unforgettable.
